The Old Rectory Berkshire

Danielle and George chose to get married at The Old Rectory in March of last year. This venue is a historic 17th Century stunning country house with beautiful grounds, located in the royal county of Berkshire. The Old Rectory is a sight to behold and provides you and your guests with an idyllic setting in which to create your perfect wedding day. It truly is a hidden gem.

This beautiful venue has undergone nearly four years of renovations, bringing it into the 21st century while maintaining some of that gorgeous character. I joined Danielle in the charming courtyard lodge for bridal preparations which was super chilled which is always a winner. Upon seeing Danielle I suddenly got a flash back to the engagement session we did back in August 2020 instantly I remembered how much fun both Danielle and George where and felt like a friend feather than a random with a camera.

If you would like to see photos from there Hampstead Heath engagement session please follow the link here! Whilst the girls where getting pampered and done up George was with getting ready at his parents house. Being big football fans the banter was top notch. Before we knew it the time had come to start to make are way to the venue for the ceremony. I left George with my second photographer to capture guests meeting and greeting whilst I whisked Danielle up stairs for a father and daughter first look.

I don’t need to say how beautiful Danielle looked the photos speak for themselves, but I do urge my couples if you have the time and space to do a first look then do, it can be very emotional mind but 100% worth it. As you can see from Danielle and her dad it was a very emotive moment between them. Just before this I did a few portraits of Danielle in her dress and I just love a dress which is different from the norm and Danielle’s Eva Lendel dress didn’t disappoint.

Superb Gala Hall

As all the guest made their way to find a seat in the Gala Hall I saw a slightly nervous George as the anticipation of seeing his wife to be walk up the aisle was building. When Danielle did finally make her way up the aisle George’s face lit up and he probably won’t want me saying this but he started to tear up the closer she got. Don’t worry George this just proves how much you love Danielle!

The ceremony was short but very sweet with both Danielle and George Reading their own written vows to each other and just like that they were married! We quickly headed outside before the rain to do a confetti shot which is always a highlight of the day, I just love seeing couples faces as they get ambushed by handfuls of confetti.

Rainy days

With the rain threatening all day I wanted to take Danielle and George off for some portraits around the grounds before the gods opened up a downpour. Danielle and George are one of those couples which just love being in each other’s presence. Throughout the day I kept seeing them get pulled apart to talk to different people only to see them gravitate towards each other 5 minutes later and be together again.

When I meet couples with such a strong connection it really makes me smile as it’s a pleasure to watch and photograph. After some photos of just them we headed back into the orangery for speeches. Speeches was full of fun and football banter but also some really sweet from the heart moments from both Danielle and George.

The evening caught up with us and what seemed like 5 minutes everyone was on the dance floor pulling shapes and epic dance moves into the late evening hours. Also great to capture these moments especially when people have had a few shandies or two.

Are you looking for a documentary wedding photographer?

Danielle’s & George’s wedding at The Old Rectory was one rich in happiness and laughter. It was one of those weddings that at the end of the night your cheeks hurt due to smiling and laughing so much. Weddings are moments in life that are full of so many emotions – all based around a positive vibe and family. I really did have an incredible time and I thank them both for allowing me to be their photographer. Being a wedding photographer the best job in the world. I wouldn’t change it for a thing!
