Millbridge Court Wedding

Millbridge Court Wedding - stunning summer wedding - wedding photography

Millbridge Court Wedding

Wow! What can I say about this utterly gorgeous wedding at Millbridge Court in Farnham, Surrey. Ruth and David had so much love for each other, it was so very visible in the effort and passion they put into their wedding day. It was certainly a corker! Having had an engagement shoot before the wedding, it was like catching up with old friends. They knew how I worked and I knew what they liked. It was a dream.

Thunder and light rain started the day – but as they say it’s lucky to have rain on your wedding day. After the crazy temperatures of the past few weeks and with our luck certainly holding, we missed the rain in all of the right places. These gorgeous pockets of sunshine hit perfectly, especially for some great portrait photos in the early evening. If you have been to a Millbridge court wedding before you will know exactly what I mean when I say Wow! What a venue! With the ceremonie being under the gorgeous oak arbour  and the high vaulted wedding breakfast hall with floor to ceiling windows and stunning rustic wooden beams, this venue is to die for.

Bridal preparation and groom preparation was at Millbridge court. It is such a wonderful space as Ruth was surrounded by everything she knew and loved – including the bridesmaids! The room were full of laughter and fun making for some great photos. David began his preparation for the wedding at the fairly new The Lodge house which is a separate building next to the main house. On the first floor is The Den which is a really stylish comfy space where David could get ready with his groomsmen, a perhaps have a whiskey or two.

Flowers, Dress to die for and Confetti

The weather was perfect all day for photography, with the skys being overcast this acted like a giant softbox in the sky. This made the colours they had chosen for the flowers, bridesmaids, and table decorations seem that much more vibrant. Everything coordinated and complemented each other so well. Even down to the ever so sweet table coasters with photos from yours truly printed on them. Ruth’s dress was truly to die for, such an elegant and stylish design, the designers at little london brides have really outdone themselves.

Now, I’m not one to like making a scene, but sometimes as a Millbridge court wedding photographer you have to come out of your shell in order to get the best photographs for the couples wedding day. For one full group photograph in particular, I had to get myself pretty high up to capture the whole wedding party in front of those epic windows at Millbridge.

This meant tiptoeing myself on one of the garden chairs to get high enough to get everybody in, luckily I had a helping hand from fellow wedding photographer Daniel Robinson to steady my chair. The speeches were hilarious, with best man and friends telling all sorts of stories about Ruth and David with a very modern twist via laptops and google hangouts. Afterwards we popped out for some portraits after the food and caught the sunset just right. I absolutely love when my couples are up for a second lot of portraits as if the sun is setting the light is just perfect. We captured some of my favourite photos during this sunset jaunt.

Dance the night away

For the cake cutting and first dance it’s always a pleasure, as the couple are stress free by this point and it’s not every day you have a full 3 tier cheese barrel cake! Once the music began in earnest, everyone was on the dance floor. The final picture on my memory cards, was a night time portrait in the courtyard of Ruth and David bathed in awesome disco lights beaming through those amazing Millbridge court windows. They were both such good sports the entire day and loved every idea I had for photos. A photographer’s dream couple!

Beautiful Lillibrooke Manor Wedding - Ksenia & Iain

Lillibrooke Manor Wedding

The recent amazing Lillibrooke Manor wedding in Berkshire was everything a great wedding should be. As a Berkshire wedding photographer I couldn’t have asked for much more. Ksenia and Iain are just such an amazing couple. We met a few months before in Tower bridge in London where we did their engagement session. The atmosphere and chemistry between them both was fun and relaxed and we got some beautiful photos as a result. Feel free to check them out here! Because of that I knew that the wedding day will be just as good, if not better!

Lillibrooke Manor Wedding Photographer

Lillibrooke Manor is a gorgeous venue and so well taken care of. History seems to seep from between the bricks and everything had the fine balance between preservation and modern perfection. It is grade II listed with medieval manor house and 15 acres of historic barns and gardens. One of the main features is the Great Barn, where the wedding breakfast took place. It is one of the largest of its type in the south of England. With a grand beamed ceiling and wrought iron chandeliers, it is truly an impressive space. The ceremony was held outside, in the beautiful rose garden underneath the old barn out-cove. All the gathered family and friends were just a happy bunch of people, which made the atmosphere joyful and relaxed. The ceremony was beautiful and the canapes where to die for!

The Great Barn

The meal and speeches were held in the most beautiful barn going, the lights, the lines, the decor just draws in the eye and even I couldn’t stop looking at it all. Speeches were moving and funny. Some favourite moments were from Ksenia’s russian family traditions when Ksenia & Iain had to kiss upon every toast to them and keep kissing untill everyone stops clapping. As you can imagine there was a lot of smooching. 🙂 Later in the day, we took some time to take couple photos, we could have literally gone anywhere, the surrounding areas were stunning. The gardens looked as pristine as ever and so we made the most of the gorgeous greens. The after dark sparklers were great, with nice warm glow in the photographs against the dark backdrop of the evening.

Amazing Guildford Wedding Photography

Annie and Tim chose me for their Guildford wedding photography – and oh my, how happy was I about that! I just love everything about this couple and this stunning barn wedding. I worked with Tim years ago at Coca Cola, so it was an honour that they chose me. Not only for the connection, but because they love my photography. We did an engagement shoot that I’ve already blogged. Check it out here. Everything about this wedding was personal, as Annie and Tim did everything possible to ensure they used local suppliers known to them.

Family, friends and loved ones

In the morning, I had a great time with Annie and her bridesmaids – they were so lovely and giggling away with each other. They have such a strong friendship and the bond between them is clear to see. Each bridesmaid was given her own specially designed box, with a gorgeous handwritten card in each.

Annie’s attention to detail was utterly flawless. This carried on throughout the day, as the venue was Annie’s parents’ home and so the entire decoration fell to friends and family. Both families outdid themselves setting everything up – it looked and had a better vibe than some official wedding venues! The flowers were done by a close family friend – the lady next door, who just so happened to be a (rather talented!) florist.

Guildford wedding photography

The whole day was so casual but felt so comfortable. There were no dramas, no stress, just lots of love and laughter with a romantic boho vibe. It was so personal and everyones needs were met. The weather was perfectly hot, but not too hot and the sky was endless blue (to compliment the bridesmaids?!). During a wedding day I normally soak into the background, as I like to capture what’s going on. Everyone was so friendly to this Guildford wedding photographer, I found myself talking to everyone! I truly believe that you can see the positivity and love come through each and every photograph I’ve shared below.

Chilled out and down to earth

The village church was a two minutes walk away from Annie’s parents house and is a picture postcard. I just loved the fact that the whole village came out of their houses to watch. The wedding party spent the day at the family home with the added extra Papakata where the food was served.

The portrait photos was a great opportunity to experiment with my prism and circular tube to get some awesome photos with cool effects. The light was perfect for this and the stunning fields as a backdrop added to the fun. An awesome band played music on the evening and towards the end of the night a huge firework display lit the sky. It was epic – the sort of display you see at a big firework show! I managed to get some fantastic photos, but it did mean me being fully laid down on my back to get them all in. Just one of the many things a wedding photographer does!

That’s not all folks…!

Annie completed my questionnaire about her Guildford wedding photography. She goes into the finer details about the wedding and all of the exceptional work that she, Tim and their family and friends went to. This resulted in the most perfect wedding that you can see below. So, before you have a look behind the scenes with Annie in one of my upcoming blogs, check out the wedding day in all its glory!
